Knowing the author of a book makes reading it an entirely different experience altogether. I remember Christine Mason Miller writing away, meeting her deadlines—sometimes we even had to cancel lunch dates! I envisioned her in the villa diligently clicking away at the keyboard. Now it is pure delight to hold the fruit of her labor in my hands. Each page turn of “Desire to Inspire” is a revelation. Christine not only proclaims how choosing a life that fits with your instincts ultimately feeds the world around you, she also orchestrated the contributions of 19 other creative and intrepid women (of which I am fortunate enough to know nearly a third), forming a chorus with their voiced experiences, as they underscore and italicize what it means to live earnestly. Even the descriptive subtitle does not confer the weight and breadth of what you will encounter between the covers.  The book itself is a trove of photos, illustrations, paintings, exercises and clippings that will lure you back again and again.
